Hell Got Raised
Hell Got Raised Again 2Nite....(Phillip Moore, Ray Scott)......Ya'll know what it's like to get crazy sometimes, closin' down the bar, and generally makin' a fool of yourself...Hey, sometimes it's necessary....Sometimes the B.S. of life gets a little too much....Ol' P-Mo and I wrote this a good while back....We tried it out on the road quite a bit, sometimes as an encore, and it seemed to strike a nerve...This was probably the most requested song I put on this album....Thanks to everyone that spoke up for it!  Hell it ain't no sin to let loose and get rowdy sometimes, but don't take it on the highway...  A taxi's cheaper than a D.U.I.
Crazy Like Me
Crazy Like Me....(Phillip Moore, Ray Scott).....This one's a few years old....It's always been a standout to me mainly cause it came from an honest place during a rough patch I went through long ago.....There's time in a man's life when he can be stupid, blind to everything around him, takin' precious things for granted...and the only way to learn a lesson is the hard way...This ain't no shiny happy radio song...It's 3 or 4 chords and the truth though....I love the guitar stuff P-Mo and Mike Daly put on this....There's some soul brewin down deep....
You Ain't Takin' This Hard Enough
U Aint Takin This Hard Enuf.....(Phillip Lammonds, Phillip Moore, Ray Scott).....This probably the newest song in the bunch....I'd been walkin around with this title in my head for a while...I knew what I wanted it to say, but just hadn't come up with the right music yet....One sunny day in 07, P-Mo and myself hooked up with a great writer from South Carolina named Phillip Lammonds....first time we'd ever met him....He started playin this killer lick and groove, and I knew within minutes my title had found a home....This is a fun song to play, and I'm sure we've all felt this way a time or two...

Poor Folks
Poor Folks....(Phillip Moore, Ray Scott)....When you know you're lucky to have the love you've got, you'd be willin' to sleep on a dirt floor just to wake up next to 'em...That's the way it's supposed to be...The hook of the song is basically an old saying I've heard all my life, but with a different spin...Me and P wrote this probably around 2001 or so....David Lee Murphy asked me a while back why I didn't put this one one the first record....Well here it is...I hope ya'll like it....Those are real crickets by the way....We hung a mic on the back porch...

Sometimes the Bottle Hits You Back
Sometime's That Bottle Hits U Back....(Ray Scott)....Honestly, this idea came to me out on the road...I was observing the pitiful state of one of my band members one morning after he'd overserved himself once again the night before..He had the worst bags under his eyes I ever saw..I took one look at him and said "That bottle hit ya back, didn't it?"...I immediately knew it was a song title....I wrote it on the back of the bus that afternoon... I love the guitar P-Mo and Troy put on this thing...We recorded it in his spare bedroom.....Not bad, huh?

Ashtray on a Motorcycle
Ashtray On a Motorcycle....(Phillip Moore, Ray Scott)....I remember one day I overheard someone refer to something being as useless as an ashtray on a motorcycle...I thought it was funny, and a damn good way to say it.....So, I pictured a guy..His girl left him and he was down and out, mopin', layin around the house.... This was fun to write....You can't take this writing thing too serious all the time....I still smile when I hear it...We did this one in P-Mo's spare bedroom too....sounds great to me....

Everybody's Girlfriend
Everybody's Girlfriend....(Phillip Moore, Ray Scott)....I originally wrote this song to pitch for a tv show that was supposed to be about cheaters...I took a lighthearted approach to the subject matter, but there's alot of truth in there...It's tough to be addicted to someone who's not committed to you...Might as well laugh it off, right?  I love the feel of this one...It's a blast to play live....Nice work Phillip!

Do it with the Lights On
Do it With The Lights On....(Phillip Moore, Ray Scott)....I was sittin at home one mornin', jacked up on my 3rd cup of coffee, and I came up with this simple, funky little groove...I went out to P-Mo's house a few days later and showed it to him...He'd just bought himself a new Wah Wah pedal for his guitar...He played a cool lick to it that sounded like porno music....So we knew it was gonna be somethin straight up sexual, about a couple of folks in love that can't keep their hands off each other....Love and lust go hand in hand sometimes...It's a fun one....Some of ya'll might blush....

Workin' My Way Back Home
Workin My Way Back Home......(Phillip Moore, Ray Scott)......I love playin...I love bein on the road, seein' new places, but just like anything else, parts of it can wear ya down from time to time....A musician's life is a great life in alot of ways, but when you've got someone you miss waiting for ya back home, it's also a great sacrifice.....There's a song I love called "Gypsy" on my last record...This is kinda the flipside of that idea....I love the feel of this one, and it's alot of fun to sing....and again, P-Mo rocks....
Slow Down
Slow Down.....(Ray Scott)....A couple years back, I was sittin on the shore of Lake Erie...The water was choppy and there was a chilly breeze blowin.....I'd just gotten off the phone with my Mom back in NC...They were having a family get together, celebrating my Niece, Jenna's 4th birthday, and once again I was missin' it.....Seemed like I never went home anymore....i was Mr. Busy Man....My heart hurt on this day...It made me stop and think about the truly important things in life....Home and family are number one....always will be....This song wrote itself in a matter of minutes....It's definitely a sentimental favorite...
